The following terms are used in the RHOP system
Business Owner: individual or organization that owns or operates a member establishment.
Data Mining: the practice of examining large databases in order to generate new information (business intelligence).
Dashboard: a graphical summary of various pieces of important information, typically used to give an overview of a business.
Distributor: sells many product lines from many manufacturers, an agent who supplies goods to restaurants.
Employees: a member of the UNIPCO team having access to the RHOP system. Can also include "Members" who have been given limited web access to the RHOP system.
Export: the action of converting a set data set into another format. ( i.e. export to excel means to convert the data to be readable by the any program supporting the Microsoft Excel file format).
Key Performance Indicators (KPI) : A Key Performance Indicator is a measurable value that demonstrates how effectively a company is achieving key business objectives.
Management Fee: a fee paid to a person or company for managing a warehouse
Manufacturer: maker of a product,. a person or company that makes goods for sale.
Master Detail Relationship: The RHOP database is a relational database with various data logic relationships and structures. The Master Detail relationship is a one type of relationship which form tight bond relationship between Parent object and Child object. A Master object could be a Member record and the Child object could be the rebates he has earned.
Members: People or organizations that have joined the RHOP program.
Member Rebate Program: the name of the service rebate program that a member has joined. (Also known as the old Member Type (field in old system) and also known as Standard Rebate in old system). Member Rebate Programs can be grouped by specific regions, warehouse or member group. For ease of use in certain section of RHOP we have retained the old naming format for Rebates known as Standard Rebates.
Navigation Pane: A navigation pane is an additional window that typically lies on the left-hand side of the main window and is used for navigation (move) within the application..
Pivot Table: A pivot table is a table of statistics that summarizes the data of a more extensive table (such as from a database, spreadsheet, or business intelligence program ). This summary might include sums, averages, or other statistics, which the pivot table groups together in a meaningful way.
Product: an article, service or substance that is manufactured or refined for sale. A product is any item or service you sell to serve a member’s need or want. ( In the old system Products would be equivalent to the Product Line in RHOP)
Product Guide : is the repository of all products offered by the distributors (rebatable and non-rebatable)contained in the RHOP system
Product Line: A product line is an array (grouping) of related products. A product line is a group of products that a company typically creates under a single brand. The products are similar and focus on the same market sector.
Prospect: Individual or organization that is expected to become a member in the future.
Primary Key (database) : A primary key is a special relational database table column (or combination of columns) designated to uniquely identify each table record.
A primary key is used as a unique identifier to quickly parse data within the table. A table cannot have more than one primary key.Example: a member table would have a primary key that is unique for the member. Other tables which also contain the primary of the member can be linked together to provide for example all purchases made by the member.
Scorecard: a statistical record used to measure achievement or progress toward a particular goal.
Security: the various tools that manages access and users rights to interact with the RHOP system.
Supplier : sells various lines of product, ( a manufacturer may also be a direct supplier)
Rebate: a partial refund for a purchased product
Supplier/Distributor Rebates: the rebate(s) offered by a Supplier or Distributor.
Standard Rebates: also known as Member Rebate Program
Rebatable and Rebateable: The system make use of both spellings with the definition being the same. Definition: A deduction from an amount to be paid or a return of part of an amount given in payment. Rebatable (Oxford Dictionary spelling)
Record: A record is simply a set of data stored in a table, for example, a members record. A record in a database is an object that can contain one or more values.. Records in a database or spreadsheet are usually called "rows". Groups of records are stored in a table, which defines what types of data each record may contain.
Regions/Territories: one of the areas where UNIPCO sells its products or services
Relational Database: The RHOP database is a relational database that comprise multiple files of related information, stored in tables of rows (records) and columns (fields), and allowing a link to be established between separate files(tables) that have a matching field, as a column of invoice numbers, so that the two files can be queried and used simultaneously by the user. The logical data structure/grouping/relationship of the data facilitates data searchability, organization and reporting.
User Interface (UI) : in Windows it is the application screens, Windows Desktop. In a WEB application it is the application user screen.
Validate: permits a user to validate the data against defined business rules before it is saved.
View Variant: a form or version of the data that differs in some respect from other forms of the same data or from a standard view of the data. Typically it is a filtered view of the base data.
